Why Vote for Kevin?

Kevin O'Keefe is a proud American, former U.S. Marine, and dedicated advocate for working class families. With a deep commitment to affordability, he will fight to lower the sales tax in Westchester County. A staunch supporter of labor unions, he believes in protecting the rights of workers and ensuring they have a seat at the table in today’s economy. Concerned about the environmental and community impact of unchecked lithium battery facilities, he is taking a stand against corporate overreach, prioritizing responsible development and local interests. With a no-nonsense, results-driven approach, Kevin is ready to bring common sense leadership to Westchester County District 4 and will put the needs of his constituents first.

My Story

Kevin O'Keefe was born and raised in the Bronx, where he attended Catholic school from kindergarten through his senior year of high school. Following his graduation, he was compelled by the tragic events of the World Trade Center attacks and chose to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. Over the course of four years, he deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq as an infantryman, ultimately rising to the rank of sergeant.

Upon returning home, Kevin joined the union building and construction trades. His first project was particularly meaningful: he was part of the work crew that rebuilt the World Trade Center, serving as a member of Local 46 Metallic Lathers & Reinforcing Ironworkers. Through dedication and leadership, Kevin made significant strides in his union career. He was elected to the Executive Board, then elected as Vice President, and most recently holds the elected position of Business Agent for his local union, continuing to advocate for the rights and interests of his fellow workers.

Kevin is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the American Legion, and the VFW, and he has previously served as Commandant of the Westchester County Marine Corps League. He hosts a Toys for Tots event every year through his local union to help unfortunate children in the New York Metro area.

Kevin has been a resident of Westchester for 13 years and currently resides in Somers. While living in Somers, he actively participated with the community, attended rallies and spoke at town board meetings against a proposed lithium battery storage facility that was set to be built in residents' backyards. He is a parishioner at the Church of St. Joseph's and is happily married with three children, balancing his professional commitments with a deep dedication to his family, country, and community.
